Default A deathmagic build without minions?

There are a lot of great death magic skills independent of minions... I'm thinking of a build a long these lines for PvE usage

Putrid Explosion
Well of Suffering
Well of Profane
Soul Feast
Tainted Flesh

Res signet

Pretty simple... Tainted flesh + well of suffering slap on 10 AoE degen on melee monsters who will spread it to other monsters, Well of profane will reak havoc on enemy monks who try to counter the degen with enchantments, Soul feast is for healing, and putrid explosion provides powerful armor ignoring AoE damage. I think its a good pressure build to keep enemy monks very busy and render them incapable of dealing with all the degen + actual damage from the rest of your party.

The other two skills can be used for some energy managment, but with soul reaping it's probably not neccissary. maybe throw in BR for some caster support and another blood magic skill.

thoughts?

Personally... I'd drop Tainted Flesh for Rotting Flesh - it'd let you use your Elite skill on something more powerful for PvE. Icy Veins would be a good choice - it's a low cost spell that - along with Putrid Explosion - will be able to quickly wipe out enemies when bodies start piling up...

As for Well of the Profane - I'd rather have a direct enchantment removal for taking on monks. Enemy monks will often be the first target so there will unlikely be any corpses for Profane to feed on and there's only a couple of enchantments that are truly worth removing (Mark of Protection springs to mind...).

And for the spare skills... BR is always a useful skill to have. Also with a high Death Magic you may want to consider Deathly Swarm or something similar to add to damage.

Anyways good luck And I apologize for my poor sentences... my comma button is broken.

welcome to pvp. Tainted/rotting/putrid/well of the profane.

No one uses soul feast, and the other slots are for stuff like aegis or wards.

In PvP, use Tainted Flesh. In PvE, use Virulence. Throw a level 0 enfeeble on target, then virulence.

Get:

Taste of Pain
Vile Miasma
Virulence (e)
Enfeeble
Bitter Chill
Putrid Explosion
Soul Feast
Rez Signet

Or:
Rotting Flesh
Vile Miasma
Discord (e)
Bitter Chill
Putrid Explosion
Deathly Chill
Soul Feast
Rez Signet

Discord and Toxic Chill are fun. But yea, Taint is probably the most popular PvP Necro build after Hex Spammer (the Siphon/Faint or Siphon/RM- whichever floats your boat). Both- of course- are pressure builds used in large teams because of their ability to do massive damage not to a single target but rather the whole enemy team.

you can always be a blood/death necro and play a good support role. use wells, death nova, tainted flesh...necros can provide great support.
